Everyone here at Electric Firefly, from Simon the evil genius right down to the elves that work in the warehouse, adore hearing about just how dramatically people’s lives have improved after they get some EFDC love in their lives. However what like even more is when proud new lamp owners take a photo of the recent addition to their house / office / restaurant / church / prison cell / yurt / etc. and send them to us. Words can’t begin to describe just how excited the elves get when they hear the little chime letting them know they have new email containing a shot of one of their creations in the wild.

So, without further delay, we’d like to announce that the Electric Firefly photo shootout competition will officially be kicking off on July 1st. It’s quite simple – all you have to do is head on over to the Electric Firefly Facebook page, join (if you haven’t already) and post a photo of your light to the wall. Then each on the first of each month, a carefully chosen judging panel will select one image as the monthly winner, the owner of which will receive a prize – any lamp of their choice (and fitting if required) from the Electric Firefly Online Shop (with the exception of the one metre Daisy lamp). The monthly winner will be announced both here on the blog and on the Facebook page.

By now you may have wised up to the fact that we’re pretty much making this up as we go along, so rules etc may be added in time. For now the only rules are that you can only enter photos of your lamp in any one single month (feel free to come and buy another lamp if you want to enter again). Feel free to upload as many images (within reason) as you like within the same month however. Be assured that you don’t have to take a technically perfect photo to be in the running to win – in fact points will most likely be awarded for creativity. Additionally, the 1 metre Daisy is he only lamp

The legal department on level 6 has insisted that we mention that Electric Firefly retains the right to remove any images should it be deemed necessary, that by uploading your images you give permission for Electric Firefly to use them on the Facebook page, website and potentially in future marketing materials. Electric Firefly also retains the right to cancel the competition at anytime.
