Following on from the continued success of the Handmade Market, Julie (Shop Girl) Nichols and her designer collective have opened Shop Handmade in the heart of Canberra. A retail space offering punters a unique shopping experience, Shop Handmade also provides Australian indie designers to sell their creations outside of the markets environment.Featuring around 80 individual designers at any one time, the integrity of every product is assured thanks to the detailed application and interview process that continues to work so well for the quarterly Handmade Market. Punters are also guaranteed a continually evolving product range thanks to the rent-this-space system – designers pay as little as $25 a week to rent a space and receive 100% of any sales.

With products ranging from furniture to greeting cards, compiling a list of designers and their creations simply won’t do the shop justice. Instead visit the Shop Handmade Blog which the ladies regularly update with profiles of designers, new product arrivals and photographs galore.
